New Tesla, Audi & Volkswagen EV launches due in 2020

Electric Vehicle Future

It’s very difficult for even a car lover to keep a track of every car and know when they are going to launch. This is especially true if you are interested in Electric Vehicles (EVs). There are many EVs preparing to launch in the next twelve months. So, it is worth knowing the details of a few of these new EV launches. Take a look at some of their main features, including price, launch date, and performance.

Tesla Model Y

This model was revealed in March 2019. However, it won’t likely be available for sale in the US for another 6 months. This compact SUV is the sister vehicle to the popular Model 3. The Model Y has an option to include a third seating row – which could make it the go-to EV for big families. It shares a common platform and powertrain with the Model 3. Hopefully, this means Tesla will be more able to deliver vehicles on time.

Tesla Roadster

Tesla Roadster will take its place as a leading sports car. It replaces the original Tesla Lotus-based Roadster that announced Tesla to the world. The next-generation Roadster has appeared extensively ahead of an official debut. Tesla says their newly launched EV has a top speed more than of 250mph and can go 0-60mph in 1.9 seconds. The car’s range will be somewhere around 620 miles, due to its 200kWh battery pack. In fact, that battery is currently the biggest in a production EV. Tesla will price the first 1,000 cars at $236,466.42, which will be the Founder Edition Models. After that, Roadsters will run around $188,865.

Audi E-Tron Sport back

Audi will start deliveries of its second SUV at the end of spring, 2020. Like any other E-Tron model, Audi is offering two power variants for now: a 50 and a 55. Customers can expect to get around 278 miles of range. Its power comes from twin electric motors that produce up to 402bhp. That means the car can go from 0-60mph in just 5.7seconds.

The price for this new EV starts at around $77,640 for the base 50 E-Tron, whereas a 55 will be around $90,481. Looking at the complete package, Audi’s E-Tron is a well-thought-out car that’s ready to hit the road soon.

Volkswagen ID.3

Planned and built as part of a new series of EVs, this ID hatchback will be a decisive new EV launch for Volkswagen. It will closely match the Golf hatchback in size. VW is expecting to price it at around $34,000, somewhat near to the Golf diesel. It will, thus, become one of the most reasonable EV models on the market.

The ID.3 will be built on the integrated MEB platform. Also, it offers different battery options that offer ranges of 249 and 373 miles between charges. The final plan will be based on the original 2016 concept, which has inspired other ID Models. We can expect those new EVs to launch in the coming years.
